About the data
Source
Data comes from the official database of the French Athletics Federation (athle.fr). It represents the top 250 performances on 10km road men for each year from 2005 to 2025, all age categories combined, in regular conditions (legal wind).
Methodology
The analysis covers the period 2005-2025 (21 years) for the 10 kilometer road men, all categories combined (seniors, juniors, masters). Only performances achieved in legal wind are taken into account. For each year, the top 250 times are analyzed.
Interpretation
This analysis tracks the evolution of French middle-distance runners' level over two decades. Observed trends reflect the evolution of French depth, the impact of professionalization, variations related to major championships and the influence of weather conditions by year.
This data is regularly updated and may change if new performances are certified by the FFA.
